Overview
GST was implemented since 1 April 2015 at a rate of 6 per cent on all taxable goods or services, replacing sales and service tax.
With effect from 1 June 2018, GST rate will be revised from 6 per cent to 0 per cent until the implementation of a new tax regime, if any.
Impact to HSBC and our customers
As HSBC provides taxable services exceeding the registration threshold, HSBC has registered with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (Customs) for GST. Consequently, HSBC will impose GST on any taxable services provided to customers in accordance with the requirements of the GST laws.
